Geithner Says U.S. Economy No Longer World Leader

I guess we really shouldn't be surprised. After all, this is what Obama and his team of globalists wanted, wasn't it? It's pretty much what he promised his hate-America base. If anyone was listening, they would have heard it. US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has told the BBC that the world "cannot depend as much on the US as it did in the past". He said that other major economies would have to grow more for the global economy to prosper. He also played down any differences in policy between the US and Europe regarding deficit reduction. Mr Geithner was...

BBC Apologises for 'Queen Death Joke'

A BBC radio jockey stirred a sensation over the airwaves in the UK by jokingly announcing that Queen Elizabeth II had died and then switched on the national anthem 'God save the Queen', forcing the organisation to tender an "unreserved apology". Disc jockey Danny Kelly, 39, played the national anthem and told listeners that he had an important announcement to make and then said "Queen Elizabeth II has now died." The announcement was made on Tuesday over BBC WM, local radio service beamed to British city of Birmingham and West Midlands. A BBC spokesman later confirmed that "Danny Kelly had...

TV review: 'Foyle's War' plumbs postwar life (Foyle returns)

Foyle's War: "Masterpiece Mystery." "The Russian House," 9 p.m. Sun. "Killing Time," 9 p.m. May 9. "The Hide," 9 p.m. May 16, on KQED. World War II did come to an end in 1945, and so did "Foyle's War," sort of, in 2007. First it was canceled by ITV, proving that idiocy reigns as supremely in British TV as it does so often on these shores. After viewers complained and the supposed finale, "All Clear," drew significant ratings in its 2008 British telecast, ITV wisely saw the error of its ways and came to Horowitz, hat in hand, to ask...

Study: Brain games don't make you smarter ("Bang Goes the Theory")

LONDON – People playing computer games to train their brains might as well be playing Super Mario, new research suggests. In a six-week study, experts found people who played online games designed to improve their cognitive skills didn't get any smarter. Researchers recruited participants from viewers of the BBC's science show "Bang Goes the Theory." More than 8,600 people aged 18 to 60 were asked to play online brain games designed by the researchers to improve their memory, reasoning and other skills for at least 10 minutes a day, three times a week. They were compared to more than 2,700...

Peace At Last

It was in the year 2008. The Israelis at long last gave up their attempts to resist the pressures of the world. They elected a new government headed by Prime Minister Yossi Beilin, the original promoter of the Oslo Peace Process, in coalition with the Jewish and Arab parties of the Left. They announced that Israel was willing to accept the unanimous proposal for peace supported by every single country in the world, and would return to its pre-1967 borders, remove all Jewish settlements from the territories of the new state of Palestine, recognize Palestine and grant Palestine all of...

BBC Speculates about Pope Benedict’s Resignation

Folks, can you believe it? Well, OK, there’s precedent. I remember clearly how after Pope Benedict’s election the BBC journalist practically wished him a short tenure via natural causes, as he continuously spoke about his advanced age and the fact that Benedict’s was a “transitional election”.

The Meaning of the Second Amendment

Open carry laws in the State of Wisconsin have gotten a lot of attention lately, most recently from the BBC. In a column titled "Armed and ready to shop," posted by the BBC on March 11, North America editor Mark Mardell recounts his experience following Nick Clark and Kim Garny as they go about their daily business in the Milwaukee area while openly bearing arms on their hips. Commenting on their trip to a local grocery store while so armed, Mardell writes: "There's a revolver amid the ravioli, an automatic among the avocados. Like cowboys out of Westerns, the couple...
